While our day to day life is interior design here in beautiful Boulder, Colorado. A hugely important part of our design practice is travel.
Traveling is where we cut ties, for a bit, with the world we know so well and go exploring. It's where we find inspiration by seeing new things, hearing new languages, and meeting extraordinary people.
And while traveling to find visual inspiration, new sources and design artisans is our main goal. If we're honest with ourselves, eating our way from one end of a destination to the other is a big perk. Thus we’re going to go out on a limb and make a declaration:
We’ve found the best breakfast in the world and it is (drum roll please) the Naan Roll at Dishoom in London!
While in visiting to attend the London Design Festival we wandered into the Dishoom outpost in the hip Shoreditch neighborhood. Inspired by the Irani cafes of Mumbai, Dishoom serves glorious Indian food in an eclectic and homey space. But the insider tip is heading there for breakfast and ordering the aforementioned Naan Roll.
Upon ordering your naan is freshly baked by hand in their tandoor oven. And while still warm from the oven it is graced with a little cream cheese, chili tomato jam, and fresh herbs and then wrapped around your choice of bacon, sausage, egg, or any combination therein. Sweet mother of all that is holy is it good!
Our recommendation is to order one along with a spicy Chai and enjoy... Then order a second round of the exact same thing. You're going to be walking around London all day, just think of it as fuel for your adventures! And if it's a nice day, ask for a table on their charming covered patio.
